N Kuhn grew up in a small town in Western New York. Having spent her afternoons outside or with a book, she grew up with a love of reading and writing. Her mother and grandmother fully encouraged this in her. Many years later, after a husband and children, she made a promise to her dying grandmother to fulfill her dream of being an author. Her grandmother lived to see N's name in print. This was a turning moment for her. Driven by ambition and a promise made, she has since published several titles including the Mohawk Trilogy, Tucked In, Buffalo Rocker and the Tricks series.
N Kuhn has several other books that will be out later this year. When she's not writing, she runs her blog, bartends and promotes for other authors. Family and coffee are her two staples in life.

I like books that are funny and fun to read (and hot!) but also make me think or look at the world in a new way.
These days you’ll find me writing, pet sitting, juggling a number of freelance gigs, and reigning as my home’s domestic goddess. I live in the Midwestern U.S. with my husband, dog and cats. Alas, I have, as of yet, been unable to teach my husband how to purr.

This book could have been so much better. It's a great story. For someone like me who hasn't read any books by this author, she takes that into account. You don't feel completely left out of the series. Chloe was interesting. She's smart, protective and has a pretty cool power. Jorge, I don't feel like you get to know him well enough.
The dialogue seems a little stilted. They all speak so properly, that it's hard to get into. Most people don't speak perfect english.
I loved watching as they put together a wedding and dealt with their personal issues. Chloe and her mom, that was wonderful to see how it all turned around. I think that if there were some changes made to the talking, and maybe some trimming on certain parts that aren't needed, it would be a much easier read. Like:
The drive into town is uneventful. I planned the later time to avoide rush hour traffic. Plus I hate mornings. < Parts like this felt like they were upping the word count and held no value to the story. Cutting some of that would make this read smoother, easier and flow better.
If you're into paranormal romance, then you may like this. It's certainly a different twist compared to other paranormals. It's interesting to see something different in a genre that's flooded with the same thing over and over.
My rating- out of 1-5:

“So what was up with your lack of cake enthusiasm?” My best friend Naomi peers at me over her latte. We’re taking a wedding planning respite at our favorite coffee place.
She clearly knows something is wrong. Usually I love cake, food, all things with sugar and fat. And, of all the tedious parts of planning my wedding, tasting the cake was supposed to be the highlight.
Naomi starts tapping her fingers and her blue-eyed stare means business. I’m not getting out of spilling the beans. Time to woman up.
“I found an old letter I wrote to my mom.” I stare down into my Earl Grey latte and try not to let my emotions run away with me.
“From when?”
“I was sixteen. Wrote it the day I tore up every picture of her I had.” I didn’t need to say more.
Before Naomi can say anything, there’s a commotion at the entrance. A boy, maybe twelve or thirteen, careens into an empty table just inside the door, almost knocking it over. I know puberty can have its awkward gangly growth spurt phases, but this is no ordinary stumbling. At first, I assume he’s drunk or stoned or something—sad, I know, for a young teen— but then I notice some awfully shaggy hair sprouting from his neck and spreading under his shirt.
Shit. He’s a shape-shifter, and by the looks of it, one who isn’t prepared to be going through a transition. Given his age, this is probably his first shift or close to it. Odds say he’s an orphan shifter—born into a family who doesn’t know shape-shifters exist but have some rogue genes in their DNA. Puberty takes hold, and boom, you find out you’re a shape-shifter.
