Good Morning, back to the good ole Romances here. I would like to point out, that if you like historical romance, I would recommend this first book to you. I have read it and it was quite interesting. Enjoy!

Child of the Mist (These Highland Hills, Book 1)
In the harsh Scottish highlands of 1565, superstition and treachery threaten a truce between rival clans. It's a weak truce at first, bound only by an arranged engagement between Anne MacGregor and Niall Campbell-the heirs of the feuding families.

While Niall wrestles with his suspicions about a traitor in his clan, Anne's actions do not go unnoticed. And as accusations of witchcraft abound, the strong and sometimes callous Campbell heir must fight for Anne's safety among disconcerted clan members. Meanwhile his own safety in threatened with the ever-present threat of someone who wants him dead.
Will Niall discover the traitor's identity in time? Can Anne find a way to fit into her new surroundings? Will the two learn to love each other despite the conflict? With a perfect mix of a burgeoning romance and thrilling suspense, this book is historical fiction at its best.

Take Me
“I want to taste you.” His voice seduced her. His body, costumed in a linen kilt and a mask of the ancient Egyptian lion-headed god of the massacre, made her body burn. It was inappropriate, unprofessional, but when he spoke, “I’m not a gentle lover. I’ll take you fast. I’ll take you hard, and I won’t stop until we’ve both come,” Diana willingly took the plunge into decadence, forgetting where they were and who she was.

Son Tom has finished Sixth Form.  Tom knows where he’s going regarding a career.  He’s not quite so sure where he’s going regarding women and lurches from one frantic love affair to the next.

Widowed neighbour June adores the Garveys as if her own kin.  And although 70, she’s still up for romance.  June thinks she’s struck gold when she meets salsa squeeze Harry.  He has a big house and bigger pension – key factors when you’ve survived a winter using your dog as a hot water bottle.  June is vaguely aware that she’s attracted the attention of fellow dog walker Arnold, but her eyes are firmly on Harry as ‘the catch’.

But then Cupid’s arrow misfires causing madness and mayhem.  Steph rekindles a childhood crush with Barry Hastings; Si unwittingly finds himself being seduced by barmaid Dawn; June discovers Harry is more than hot to trot; and Tom's latest strumpet impacts on all of them. Will Cupid's arrow strike again and, more importantly, strike correctly?  There's only one way to find out....

The House of the Wicked (a psychological thriller combining mystery, murder, crime and suspense)

1880: Stephen Denning is an artist arriving in Porthgarrow. It is an isolated Cornish fishing community, largely untouched by the modern, developing Victorian world, hanging onto its old traditions, superstitions and beliefs – a community that lives with a disturbing secret. So too does Denning.

He is a reluctant visitor, and though he is supposedly joining his one-time artist friend Terrance Wilkinson to form an artists’ colony it is circumstances that force him there. Denning is still haunted by the brutal death of a young woman in Brittany, and shouldering guilt for the fact that he covered up for Wilkinson when he suspects the man of having been been involved with the murder.

But Porthgarrow is haunted by its own demons and secrets. He learns about the savage murder of a woman by her husband Jowan Connoch thirteen years previously, and of Jowan’s son who has returned to Porthgarrow to uncover the truth and to clear his father’s name.

Yet it is far from over. Before long three more people are destined to die in Porthgarrow before the village gives up its sinister secrets, and Stephen Denning will learn of his own family’s mysterious involvement.

The house of the Wicked is peopled with larger than life characters – the powerful businessman Gerran Hendra and his beautiful daughter Jenna; the Reverend Biddle who collects photographs of the dead; Benjamin Croker, the journalist; and Tunny, the village wise man and healer.

From its atmospheric Gothic undertones to its shocking and unexpected end, ‘The House of the Wicked’ is D. M. Mitchell at his darkest and most imaginative best.

Scoring 40 at Age 40
This book will delve into Michael Jordan’s short tenure with the Washington Wizards at the Age of 38. Jordan’s true greatness lied in his two-year short stint with the Washington Wizards and how he was able to dominate games on given nights like no other superstar in NBA history at the age of 38 to 40 years old. His ability to still perform and prove to the world, he could still play the game of basketball. A comparative look into what Jordan was able to accomplish compared to previous NBA superstars at the age of 38. The book will also look into Jordan and whom many have dubbed as the next scoring prototype of Jordan; Kobe Bryant and a look into their playoffs and NBA finals performances. The glaring differences in their post season performances and results. In addition, Larry Bird’s early continued dominance over Michael Jordan and his Chicago Bulls, during the span of ’86-87 season. How it took Jordan years to find out what Magic and Larry already knew; the concept of team-play. The book will also look into Jordan’s astounding ability to average 37 points a game, during one of the most physical eras in Basketball history. A deeper look into how Jordan would fare in today’s game with no hand-checking and stringent defensive foul rules. This book looks into why his comeback with the Washington Wizards can be the real sign of his true greatness and what separated him from his contemporaries.

The Wicked Wager ( A Regency Murder Mystery & Romance )

The infamous rake, Lord Richard Hamilton, has finally chosen his bride—the very appropriate Miss Emma Grey.
The ton approves, Lord Grey is pleased, Lady Grey delighted, and Emma is over the moon, but her uncle, (the blasted) Duke of Arden opposes the match, and Emma is ordered to move to the duke’s estate to think things over.
Richard Hamilton refuses to take things lying down and concocts a plan. A plan that should have brought the lovers together and had them married within a month. It was a simple matter of masquerading as the duke’s gardener, compromising the lady, and then having the duke rush them off to Gretna Green.
Alas, he underestimates the duke’s intelligence and the tangled situation on the estate—never had he imagined that compromising a lady could be so difficult.
His endeavours lead to a comedy of errors, charades, and knotty love affairs. Yet he forges ahead in spite of pesky house guests, a flea bitten mattress, his lovesick best friend, and a blackmailer.
Just when things seem to be going well, someone is murdered (very inconvenient), and he happens to be one of the suspects (extremely inconvenient).
His simple plan for winning the wager suddenly becomes … a tad complicated.

A partner is required.

Fantine (Fanny) Delarive is perfect. She knows the slums better any, has survived its labyrinth alone for years, and knows every criminal lurking in every dark corner.

Then, the investigation detours the pair into the bright ballrooms of the ton.

And Fantine fits in here, too.

Which changes everything.

Lord Chadwick knows a woman of Fantine's ilk is entirely unsuitable for him. But she's infinitely more exciting than any well-born lady he's ever met.

Now much more than an acquaintance with the independent, self-reliant Fantine is required... and it must end with nothing less than marriage.

The Warrior's Maiden

A baron and his daughters are dead, slaughtered on the king's road, when the sheriff should have kept the peace.  Can his ungainly daughter solve the mystery of their deaths before the baron's grieving widow and his bastard son wreak vengeance on her father, the man they hold responsible?
