Kristin Secorsky grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas obsessed with vampires and all things paranormal since she was a child. She began writing paranormal short stories in high school. She earned a BA in English and a Master's degree in Education. Frequently plagued with insomnia, Kristin stays up into the wee hours of the morning writing her novels. The Immortal Scrolls is her first self-published novel. Kristin is a proud mommy of two daughters, Iliana and Elisabeth. She lives in Dallas, Texas with her family.

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

I realized I wanted to write in high school. I wrote short stories and poems usually with elements of love and the paranormal. I wrote a vampire short story for a tenth grade assignment, and my teacher told me I would be the next Anne Rice. While I don’t know about that, it was still a great compliment that has motivated me to write ever since.

How long did it take you to write your book?

It took six months to write The Immortal Scrolls.

What genre is your book? What made you choose to write in that category?

It is a paranormal romance with a touch of ancient history. I love history and the paranormal so it seemed right to blend them.

What was your work schedule like when you were writing?

I was actually recovering from ankle surgery and wasn’t working when I wrote The Immortal Scrolls. Currently, I work part-time so I have time to write.

What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?

I can only write late at night when everything is dark and quiet, and I need salty snacks like green olives or sunflower seeds.

How many books have you written?

I have four novels, but only one is published so far.

Will they be published?

Yes, after revisions :).  

What does your family think of your writing?

My family is very proud and supportive of my writing. My kids get mad that I am on the computer so much, so I try to write when they are asleep.

What was one of the most surprising things you learned about yourself in creating your books?

I am a hopeless romantic who believes in love at first sight, and I can do anything I put my mind to.

Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?

I do talk with fans on a daily basis and have friended many. They tell me they love my book and my male characters. I love receiving messages from readers! It encourages me to keep writing.  

As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?

I wanted to be an archaeologist. I couldn’t afford to go to college away from home. Where I lived there were no degrees offered in archaeology. So I studied my second passion, English.

This book really has it all. Werewolves, vampires, gladiators. It's for those who like historical, paranormal and those who just like a good romance.

The tale of Androcles and Araceli . They find love with each other that burns deep in Androcles for centuries. Araceli's life is stolen away by Amara, the vampire who wants Androcles for herself. Weaving a tale of jealousy and love, Andy (Androcles) translates scroll that he wrote, for an archaeologist, Skye. To Androcles, she looks identical to his Araceli he lost so long ago. But, Skye has secrets too. This tale is gripping, and has you on the edge of your seat, wondering how it will all unfold. I really enjoyed this and am hoping that there will be another book with these characters. The ending felt a little rushed, but I'm definitely wanting more.

To say that the love making in this book is hot, would be an understatement. There's more heat than a kitchen oven! Quite exciting to read!
