My Review

This was a good sweet romance. It wasn't very "igniting" though. Natalie couldn't decide if she wanted to be with Tony or not. Tony, he was hot, knew what he wanted and was interesting. Natalie really wasn't my favorite character. I couldn't sympathize with her. She divorced because she was "bored" and "not happy" yet continues to make herself unhappy by not dating or opening herself up.

I felt that all the back and forth Natalie went through, made it hard to really get into their relationship. I also wasn't fond of the in depth detail of the supporting characters. It was great to see all the "coincidences" but those only go so far. I wanted more Natalie and Tony than her father or anyone else. There were certainly very emotional parts that got to me. In a good way. The book truly is well written. It just didn't have the special spark for me.

This was a sweet feel good romance though. The second half of the book certainly picked up a little more for me. It was more interesting, but at times it truly dragged on. If you like your romance sweet, this is a good book to read. The cover is gorgeous and I love it. But I would have loved to see more "flame" between the two main characters. The ending was done well though. That's where you see the most development between everyone!

An Arresting Attraction

Burned-out Miami PD detective Paul Cabrera is determined to slow
down. Reporting for a deputy job in Majestic, Colorado, where the most
exciting police work will be writing parking tickets, Paul didn’t plan on
falling in lust with the very sexy Deputy Lanie Prescott.

Lanie Prescott wants respect. But that word isn't in the Chief of Police's
vocabulary. Determined to be taken seriously as a police officer, Lanie
ignores her smokin' hot replacement and packs her bags for a law-
enforcement job in the city.

But an emerging crime wave temporarily puts Lanie back on the Majestic
force, and what began as an arresting attraction between Paul and Lanie
just may become a long-term incarceration of the heart.

I found this one a lot more enjoyable than An Igniting Attraction. Though the side story lines still take up a lot of the book, it wasn't as much as the other book. I really loved Paul and Lanie. They were both awesome characters. They were well written and witty.
"Because reading about a housewife who finds an alien's mummified head in her husband's bowling bag might make me laugh." The one liners that came up in this book were good. The characters were both strong and very likable.

"Mom-eee! How does a baby get into your tummy?" "It usually happens when Mommy has her guard down from Daddy." This was a fun read. It didn't drag on, there was action, sexiness and a true romance that developed. There were some editing issues, but nothing to truly keep you from really enjoying the story of Paul and Lanie! If only the cops around here looked like Paul! *sigh*
