This was an interesting read. It was a refreshing story about vampires and breeds. I enjoyed finding how their blood mating worked and enjoyed the suspense and twists of this story.
My issue with this book is that at times it felt so long and drawn out that I found myself getting bored.
I wasn't really a fan of Serina. Not that she did anything wrong, you just really don't get to see her as anything other than a weak woman who constantly must be taken care of. I like more from my characters.
The whole Carissa thing was transparent. I saw right through it and got annoyed every time it was repeated over and over about her just up and leaving.
I will say, I liked Lucian and would love to see more about his little family. I also am interested in seeing where this series goes. I'll be looking for the next one.
