Rock Stars, Surf and Second Chances
When handsome California surf god Lincoln Savage suddenly rolls into Ocean Beach like a rogue wave, shy beauty Simone Bianchi’s foundation is shaken. No longer under the thumb of her domineering father, she’s made a simple quiet life for herself and her fluffy fourteen pound Havanese pup running a surf shop in her hometown of OB. Long ago she gave up her dreams for a future with Linc.
But now the notorious lead singer of the Dirt Dogs has returned, and Simone is reluctant to admit that she’s still vulnerable to his killer dimpled smile and easy charm. She finds that although she’s stowed away the mementos, it hasn’t been as easy to erase the memories of their epic summer love.
It seems he hasn’t forgotten, either.
Is the recording contract he’s offering merely a pretense?
Or does he have something more in mind?
Does he really believe that they can just pick up where they left off, despite all the bad luck and heartache?
And is she willing to risk everything again for one last chance at love?

**It is a contemporary romance. An affirming coming of age love story that spans 15 years in 3 parts taking the characters from mid thirties in the present to the past when they are twenty then back to the present again. It has sex scenes but it is not erotica.

"The song washed up a summer's worth of heart crushing memories."
This book is just that. An emotional roller coaster that will have you up and down. I love reconnecting romances. I'm sure there are a lot of women out there who have that one person they wonder 'what if' about. This book brings that story to life. Simone is a woman with every day struggles. Making ends meet, trying to survive. Nice clothes or bills? Simone is hurting. You can feel her pain through the words the author puts to paper. Page by page the emotions just roll off the pages.
"Don't get me wrong, Linc. I wish you well, but I wish it for you well away from me."
Simone struggles with her feelings about Linc, about their past. I can't understand women like Mona who allow men to push them around. She allowed her father to continue controlling her even though she was a college aged woman. It was odd, the things she let him get away with. He was one of my least favorite characters, but in all helped push Linc and Simone together.

Linc was a man of great value, even at a young age. He has been through a lot but strived for better. He worked hard and though at times you can't help but be angry at him, he really was a complex character that pushed Simone to stand up for herself and become a woman.
It's nice to have songs that actually have feeling and meaning to them, instead of just words thrown together. I think songs and lyrics are one thing really lacking in rockstar romance books these days.

Part two of the book gives us an in depth look into the past, how Linc and Simone got to where they are. Linc has his own struggles and isn't the care free celebrity you think him for in the beginning.
The authors descriptive flow creates an amazing scene in your head. From the scent of ocean to the view and sounds of the environment, you'll feel as if you're in their world.

At times, I did feel the author was overly long winded. But in all, this was a wonderful book to lose yourself in. Surfers, rockstars and a wonderful romance. A great book.
