Blurb:
As the single-most powerful vampire on the planet, Xander is the ultimate bored predator with too much time on his hands. He manipulates the minds of immortals for fun and bullies around the Gods, while guarding the secret source of his power, a crystal that can wipe out the planet. But beneath the surface, he’s a shrewd creature who learned the brutal lesson of why there must be a balance between good and evil. An unwilling protector of the playthings known as humans, he knows when and where to use his power – and never to let anyone close enough to betray him. It’s easy to do, since he has the power to read the minds of everyone around him.
Except for one: Jessi, an innocent looking woman with an unusual talent who shows up unexpectedly in his life. Her sudden appearance is too convenient to be coincidence or chance. Xander determines quickly that she was sent by someone, but he can’t read her mind to discover why.
Jessi’s secret – and Xander’s – have the power to forever change the human world. Intrigued by a new sort of challenge, Xander won’t know how much danger he’s in, until he’s placed his fate in the hands of a woman whose betrayal will cost either his heart or his life.

I want to thank Lizzy for being here with us this week! I hope you all get to enjoy her as much as I do!
When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
When I was in the third grade. I wrote a horrible story about the sun. Of course, I thought it was awesome. I’ve always been compelled to write.
How long does it take you to write your books?
It takes between two and four weeks for one of my novels. I tend to write multiple books at once, so it just depends on how focused I am on any one book.
My favorite genre to write in is adult paranormal romance. I launched a young adult paranormal series last autumn that has been pretty successful. I’ve also written in other sub-genres of romance: contemporary, science fiction, urban fantasy, and so on.
I have a problem of being to easily distracted! Haha! But, I also have to be flexible about when I write, because online promotion can be a moving target. Some days, I really do just want to sit and write, but I can’t afford to do that. I’ve got to be online every day, too.
Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?
Dreams, random bits of inspiration and just an insanely wild imagination.
How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?
Not sure. Close to twenty. I’ve got seventeen out right now with another several due out in the next two months. I think my favorite is “Damian’s Oracle,” because it’s the book that launched my career and helped me believe I really can follow my dreams and be a full-time writer.
Are you currently working on another book? If so, is it part of a series or something different?
Yes! I’m working on several!
“Winter Fire” – third book in the Witchling series
“Deidre’s Death” – second book in the Rhyn Eternal series
Untitled – first book in a new young adult paranormal series
“No Way Back” – a contemporary romance I published under a different name that I’m revising for re-release under my own name.
And a few others. I’m also about to start a co-written book with young adult author Julia Crane.
What do you like to do when you're not writing?
I don’t have a lot of down time! When I’m not writing, I’m planning or marketing or similar. I have three dogs I play with every day, and my husband and I try to go to San Diego once a year for vacation and also Las Vegas. Otherwise, I’m at my laptop, working.
What does your family think of your writing?
My husband has read a couple of books, plus the sex scenes in “Zoey Rogue.” Haha! He likes them but romance isn’t his genre. My mom has a worse attention span than mine, so I’m not sure she’s finished any of my books. My dad has, though, which is odd. He’s read all my paranormal romances.
What was one of the most surprising things you learned about yourself in creating your books?
That my ideas are good. Haha! I had absolutely no self-confidence when I self-published my first novel. When I realized that people actually liked it, I was really surprised.
As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?
Become a writer.
Are you self published or do you have a publisher? If self published, what made you decide to go that route?
I am a hybrid author. Most of my titles are self-published. I signed with a small publisher in Beverly Hills who specializes in books-to-TV this past February for my Witchling and Incubatti series.
Originally, I self-published because I tried and failed to find an agent or publisher for over ten years. I sent in hundreds of queries and can count the amount of responses – all negative – I received on one hand. I gave up for awhile but kept writing, because I’ve always felt it’s what I’m meant to do.
With the advancement of technology, it’s now free to self-publish your work, so I decided to go for it. What I found: people love my books, even if The Industry didn’t. I was self-published only for over two years and then signed with Evatopia to work on getting my Witchlings a TV series. It’s a work in progress.

Damian's Oracle Free Ebook
War of Gods, Book I. Revised October 2011. Inspired by Slavic mythology, Damian’s Oracle is the entree into the ongoing battle between good and evil over the fate of humanity. The White God, Damian, and his Guardians protect the world from the Black God and his monsters while rescuing Naturals – humans with extraordinary paranormal gifts – from the Black God, who would kill or convert them.Caught in the middle is cool-headed Sofia, a Natural whose gift will tip the scales in the war. Sofia begins her transformation from human into oracle, the first in thousands of years. Damian rescues her from the Black God in time to complete a ceremony that will bind her to him for eternity. Sofia struggles with her new world and her role as an oracle and Damian’s mate while haunted by a mysterious man from Damian’s past who’s supposed to be dead. Unbeknownst to her, her link to the dead man may be all that saves Damian, his Guardians, and the fate of humanity.
While he wants nothing more than for the petite beauty to take her place at his side like the oracles of legend did his White God forefathers, Damian can’t quite rationalize having to win her over instead of command her. Further complicating his life is the sobering realization that there are spies in his organization who are helping the Black God take out his Guardians. Damian must help Sofia reach her potential fast, especially when a threat from his past returns.
Includes exclusive excerpt from "Damian's Assassin," Book II in the War of Gods series.
My Review
Damian's Oracle by Lizzy Ford
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This was a great read. Not one did I feel a lull or boredom. The story line flows so well. Sofia is a stronger woman than she thinks. Damian is just amazing sexy, and not as hardcore as he would like to think. The dynamic between these two gives us a phenomenal story. I hope the author plans to write more of these, I would love to see more of Sofia and Damian's story. Every character in this book was well developed and easy to like. This is definitely a refreshing paranormal plot that is not what you see in every other paranormal story. It's different and in a good way. I have to say, this was my first Lizzy Ford book, and I now see what the buzz about her is. This is just a really great story and I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
